Dan is a founding member of Alonso & Wirth. His practice focuses on representing clients in complex securities litigation, business and contract disputes, including those involving restrictive covenants, trade secrets and intellectual property and other employment and commercial litigation.

Dan represents clients ranging from individuals and start-up companies to Fortune 500 financial-services firms in a broad range of matters and jurisdictions. He has significant experience in the financial-services industry and represents clients ranging from the largest broker-dealers to individual registered investment advisors and financial advisors in complex civil and regulatory litigation and investigations.

Bringing his significant experience in the financial services industry, Dan works with clients from the largest broker-dealers to individual registered investment advisors and financial advisors in complex civil and regulatory litigation and investigations. He additionally represents firms and individuals in investigation and enforcement actions brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission, FINRA arbitration panels, and other self-regulatory organizations along with cases of employment discrimination, whistleblower and wrongful termination claims and prosecuting and defending RICO claims.

Dan has represented broker-dealers and individuals in courts and arbitration panels in more than 30 states and has a focus on advising and representing financial-service clients regarding the transition of advisors between firms and claims relating to misappropriation of trade secrets, restrictive covenants, employee raiding employment discrimination, unfair competition, and claims relating to employees and officer’s duties of loyalties. He also represents securities broker-dealers and registered representatives in industry and customer disputes before FINRA arbitration panels.

  • Securing a $19,000,000 award and recovery in an employee raiding and restrictive covenant dispute.
  • Successfully prosecuting claims relating to margin debts and successfully defending against a customer’s suitability claims, receiving an award of attorneys’ fees. 
  • Defending a broker-dealer against a customer’s claims of unsuitability, fraud and breach of fiduciary duty. 
  • Representing clients in a claim for defamation, violation of securities regulations, and violation of operating agreement that resulted in a multi-million dollar settlement in favor of our client. 
  • Receiving multiple defense verdicts on raiding trade secrets and restrictive covenant arbitrations and trials. 
  • Obtaining a complete expungement of numerous customer complaints or incorrect employment information from the advisor’s CRDs.
