Brian Hormozi, Of Counsel
Brian S. Hormozi is Of Counsel with Alonso & Wirth, where he advises businesses, executives, and professional services firms on high-stakes employment, regulatory, and commercial matters. With nearly 20 years of experience as both a trusted counselor and seasoned litigator, Brian brings a pragmatic, business-first approach to every engagement, combining deep trial experience with sophisticated transactional judgment to deliver results that align with his clients’ strategic objectives.
Financial Services & Regulatory
Brian’s practice is anchored by substantial experience representing financial services firms and professionals, including broker-dealers, registered investment advisers, and senior executives navigating complex transitions, competitive disputes, and regulatory scrutiny. He has litigated matters in state and federal courts nationwide involving restrictive covenants, trade secrets, unfair competition, and related claims, and has represented clients in FINRA arbitration and disciplinary proceedings, as well as before federal and state regulatory authorities. His understanding of the regulatory environment, combined with a litigator’s eye for risk, allows him to counsel clients through high-stakes situations with speed and precision.
Transactions & Outside General Counsel
Brian regularly serves as outside general counsel and transactional advisor to closely held and mid-market businesses across a range of industries, including financial services, solar and renewable energy, manufacturing, and distribution. He has led and closed stock and asset transactions exceeding $100 million in value, conducted due diligence, structured financing programs, and negotiated complex commercial and supply-chain agreements. Beyond individual transactions, Brian advises business owners on corporate governance, strategic planning, and the full spectrum of issues that arise in running and growing an enterprise. His transactional counsel is consistently informed by a strong command of operational realities and regulatory risk.
Employment Law
Brian’s employment practice encompasses both proactive counseling and enforcement. He advises executive leadership and human resources teams on workforce compliance strategy, ADA compliance, anti-harassment training, internal investigations, wage-and-hour matters, and worker classification audits. He also counsels clients on the design and implementation of incentive compensation and commission programs, WARN Act compliance, and the drafting and enforcement of employment policies, employment agreements, and restrictive covenants. His goal is always the same: to help clients build sound employment practices that reduce exposure and support business growth.
Background
Before joining Alonso & Wirth, Brian was a founding member of Hormozi Law Group, and previously served as a partner at Roche & Hormozi LLC and Schuyler, Roche & Crisham P.C. He earned his undergraduate and law degrees, cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago, and is admitted to practice in Illinois and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
